Energy Efficiency
Solving the climate issues is a great challenge for the energy sector, and energy efficiency is an important method for reducing emissions. Electricity, district heat and district cooling play a key role in solving the energy and climate issues. Their efficient utilisation will significantly help to achieve the EU energy efficiency targets.
Combined heat and power generation is an efficient and environmental way to use fuels. It is estimated that cogeneration reduces the total consumption of primary energy in Finland by about 11% and that of fossil fuels by up to 20%. Electricity and district heat replace the use of fossil fuels while reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency.
