FINNISH ENERGY INDUSTRIES

Companies operating in the energy sector founded a new industrial policy and labour market policy association, Association of Finnish Energy Industries. The founders are members of the Finnish Energy Industries Federation FINERGY, Finnish Electricity Association SENER, Finnish District Heating Association SKY and Finnish Association of Energy Employers ENERTA.

ET’s field of activity comprises production, procurement, transmission, distribution and sales of electricity, district heating and district cooling, and the design, implementation, operation, maintenance and construction of networks and power plants, as well as provision of other services for the branch. ET will be responsible for promoting development of the sector and monitoring and improving its members’ operational preconditions in terms of industrial and labour market policy in Finland and abroad, particularly in the Nordic countries and the EU.

FINNISH ENERGY INDUSTRIES started operation on 1 January 2005, by which time the old organisations had discontinued their lobbying activities.
